D303 High Schools Among Best in Nation

Both St. Charles North and St. Charles East High Schools appear in the Top 1000 of the U.S. News ranking of public high schools in the United States. The 2012 U.S. News rankings of America’s Best High Schools include data on nearly 22,000 public high schools from 49 states and the District of Columbia. (Nebraska did not report enough data to be included in the rankings.)  Among all Illinois public high schools, St. Charles North ranks 24^th and St. Charles East ranks 35^th in the 2012 rankings.

North and East are the only two high schools located in Kane County to appear in the Top 50 among Illinois public high schools.  St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 consists of students who reside in Kane County and a portion of DuPage County.  The following list shows the State and National Rank for the top ten public high schools located in either Kane or DuPage counties.

The U.S. News Best High School Rankings begin with analysis of how a school’s students performed on state tests.  After that analysis, schools were judged on how they prepare students for college, based on student success in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs.
