Mrs. Kathleen T. Hewell

President, Board of Education

Mrs. Hewell, first elected to the Board of Education in 2003, is currently serving her fourth term which expires in 2019.  Mrs. Hewell has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and completed graduate work in geochemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She worked as a Petroleum Geologist from 1982-1987 for Chevron Oil and is currently a volunteer and homemaker.

Mrs. Hewell volunteered in District 303 prior to her election to the Board.  She has served as PTO President and Vice President for Wredling Middle School, PTO President for Lincoln Elementary School, was Co-Chair and member for Citizens for Excellence in Education,  a Boundary Committee member and presenter in 1998, served on the District 303 Contingency Committee (on placement of STCE students), and was the 2001 Middle School Chair for the District 303 Facilities Advisory Committee.  Mrs. Hewell has also served the St. John Neumann Food Basket Committee for 10 years and is a founding member of Tri-Cities Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club.

Mrs. Hewell's three children attended District 303 schools throughout their school years.
