Community Partnerships through OJT

The development of employability skills is a critical component of transition services. Studies show that work training experience, while participating in school related services, is a strong indicator of employment after exiting public education. D303's On-the-Job Training (OJT) program fosters skill acquisition according to the

needs of the individual by fading job coach support as students demonstrate task independence. Students in OJT are placed at job sites based on decisions made by the IEP team after considering the individual’s level of skill, independence, interests, and transition outcome.

The Daily Bean

The Daily Bean is a transition student operated cafe located on the mezzanine level of the St. Charles Public Library. The cafe is open to the public 9 AM-12 PM Monday-Friday when school is in session.
