D303 Parent University Presents Good Grief: Helping Students Cope with Loss

How kids handle their grief over loss in their lives varies greatly with their age. For parents, it is critical to understand what it looks like when their child experiences grief and what can be done at home and what is being done at school to support a grieving student.

Four National Merit Semifinalists and 12 Students Earn Commended Status

St. Charles North High School student Tegan Keigher along with St. Charles East High School students Austin Born, Iva Gramatikov, and Benjamin McNichols have been named as semifinalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  These four District 303 students are among 16,000 students nationwide who have been selected for this honor.  The next phase of the National Merit Scholarship Program takes place in February when the finalists are notified.

Illinois Senate Bill 16 Forum

Please see the attached flier with information regarding a school funding public forum to be held at St. Charles North H.S. on Tuesday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the North H.S. Auditorium.  This event will be hosted by members of the Illinois General Assembly representing the Tri-City area.

The subject of the forum will be proposed Illinois Senate Bill 16, which if passed in the current form, would mean a loss of $7.9 million per year in state funding for District 303.

District 303 uses two words to convey what is most important in educating the students in District 303.  Those two words are Instruction Matters.The most important thing that happens every school day is the interaction in the classroom between students and teachers.
