Three seats on the D303 Board of Education will be filled in an April 7, 2015 election. For information on becoming a candidate click here. Nominating papers are due to the Kane County Clerk on Monday, December 22, 2014.

Four National Merit Semifinalists and 12 Students Earn Commended Status

St. Charles North High School student Tegan Keigher along with St. Charles East High School students Austin Born, Iva Gramatikov, and Benjamin McNichols have been named as semifinalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  These four District 303 students are among 16,000 students nationwide who have been selected for this honor.  The next phase of the National Merit Scholarship Program takes place in February when the finalists are notified.

Illinois Senate Bill 16 Forum

Please see the attached flier with information regarding a school funding public forum to be held at St. Charles North H.S. on Tuesday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the North H.S. Auditorium.  This event will be hosted by members of the Illinois General Assembly representing the Tri-City area.

The subject of the forum will be proposed Illinois Senate Bill 16, which if passed in the current form, would mean a loss of $7.9 million per year in state funding for District 303.

Board of Education Special Meeting

The Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting Open/Closed Session on Monday, September 29 at the District Administration Center.  The meeting will begin immediately following the Community Relations Committee meeting, however, no earlier than 6:30 PM.  The agenda is available in BoardBook.

Former D303 Teacher Turns 100 Years Old


Ferson Creek students and staff helped Mrs. Frances Gustafson celebrate her 100th birthday.  In addition to being the first female PE teacher ever hired in the District, Mrs. Gustafson and her husband Mr. Wirth Gustafson were honored by having Ferson Creek dedicated in their honor when the school opened 25 years ago.  Ferson Creek Principal Mr. Chris Adkins emceed the recent ceremony honoring Mrs. Gustafson.
