ReferralGPS

District 303 has contracted with ReferralGPS, an organization that enables families to use a searchable database of local mental health and substance abuse-related treatment resources. ReferralGPS:

  • Provides Care Navigation to assist families in researching and obtaining an appointment
  • Can be accessed by District 303 students, staff and families at no cost
  • Is completely confidential and securely stored
  • Is an optional resource that families are not required to access
  • Is available throughout the summer months and will be utilized by Student Support Teams in the fall
  • Filters information based on a mental health concern, clinician gender/specialty, location, and insurance acceptance
  • Is available for all types of private and public insurance options including PPO, HMO, Medicaid
  • Provides options for families who are uninsured or underinsured

BEACON - Behavioral Health Care and Ongoing Navigation

BEACON, developed by Google in partnership with the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Children's Behavioral Health Transformation Initiative, creates a single entry point where parents一or anyone helping a child or family find services一can find out what state-funded and community-based services a youth may be eligible for and how to connect with them. Kane County IRIS

IRIS is a free, web-based communication tool that helps organizations connect the individuals and families they serve to community resources. Kane County IRIS has representation from 172 local organizations in multiple sectors including: mental health, primary care, dental, early childhood services, K-12 education, adult and juvenile probation, parenting resources, substance abuse services, employment resources, immigration and legal services, emergency shelter, basic needs, and now, organizations offering discounted recreational opportunities. 

Using IRIS, community organizations will now be able to connect families who meet income requirements with the Fox Valley Park District and the City of Elgin. Both organizations help residents participate in recreational programs that they may otherwise be unable to afford.
