Fees & Fee Waivers

The School Board of St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 requires a separate application for a waiver of school fees (click here for board policy 4:140 on waiver of student fees). Therefore, an Application for Fee Waiver must be completed to qualify for a fee waiver. The qualification guidelines will be available from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in early July. Applications for fee waivers will be accepted once the guidelines are published in July.

During the registration process, fees for all students will be billed at the full amount. Any family who is not directly certified will need to complete a paper application for a District 303 fee waiver (located above, or you may request it from your school’s office) and supply the required documentation requested in the application. The application and required documentation will be submitted to:

All-Day Kindergarten Fees

Fees will be waived 100% for students with an approved Application for Fee Waiver on file prior to the final day of the first semester.

• If a family experiences a change in household or income status, they may apply or re-apply for a fee waiver at any time throughout the year.
• A family that is paid in full, but qualifies for a fee waiver after the start of the second semester under the above circumstance, will receive a refund of 50% of the fee waiver eligible fees paid to date upon request.
• Eligibility in one year does not guarantee future fee waiver eligibility; therefore, the Application for Fee Waiver must be completed annually following the publication of qualification guidelines from ISBE for the applicable school year.

Eligibility is effective the date the application is received by the Business Office. Any fees accumulated from past school years are still owed. If you need further information concerning waiver of school fees please contact Wendy Sedwick at 331-228-4927.
